69 impala weatherstrip changing

On a 2 door coupe,anyone ever remove/replace the rubber that is on car,NOT DOOR and seals windows when their against it. Mines ratty. Want to replace but before I start tearing I want some inside info please

I'm not sure, are you talking about the belt weatherstripping that rides against the window as it goes up and down? It is attached to the top of the door panel. Those are held on by staples either through the felt or underneath the rubber flap. After you remove the staples, you can put the new weatherstripping back on with new staples, small stainless steel screws, or pop rivets either aluminum or stainless steel.

That which goes around door frame on car. NOT on door. Comes up from just above hinge and over your head and down the front of the rear window to another flat pad that screws to the metal just below rear window

APOLOGIES ON THE EXPLANATION

I was right when I said it started above front door hinge but wrong when I said down rear window. Two seperate pieces. This one keeps going along top of rear window and back of it and disappears down inside. Seals top edges of both windows to car. Anyone ever change one on anything similar to a 69 impala? LOOKS NIGHTMARISH

Has Anyone At Any Time Ever Changed any Late 60's,early 70's Chev 2dr Hardtop Roofrail Weatherstrip. Ever In The History Of Man, On Anything??????????
