69 Nova SS or not? How to tell??

I was wandering how to decode if a 69 Nova is a SS or not. Does the Vin tell you like a Chevelle or what. Found a nice one that seems appears to be an SS but just wandering how to tell.

I was 21 ... in 1969 ... and I bought a new 1969 Nova Super Sport 396 with the 375 HP option. It was a aluminum head, 4 speed with a 4.10 rear end.

All the real Nova Super Sports in 1969 came with 12 bolt rear ends, Power Disc brakes on the front and multi-leaf springs in the rear. The 350 was a base engine ( equipped with a Quadajet ) and the big blocks were either the 350 HP ( hydraulic cam and a Quadajet ) or the 375 HP ( solid lifter camshaft and a Aluminum intake with a Holley ) .

The only Nova with a VIN that will tell you if it's an SS or not is a '72. The engine code K is the 350/4-bbl, which was only available with the SS package in '72.
