6x2 loaded, is this a good deal?

I've been looking for a vintage edelbrock/weiand or offy 6x2 intake and 6 stromberg 97's for a little while and have been offered a complete vintage setup (circa 1960-something) that may have never even been run for $1400 with linkage and everything. Anyone know if this is a good price?

Rich

It sounds like an okay deal. Check Ebay to see if a similar item has been sold. Ebay is one of the best price guides out there. They have the "Completed items" listing that shows what has sold for the past 15 days.

Putting together parts I found advertised on ebay, I'd be looking at a similar amount maybe a bit more. However, I'm glad I didn't jump on the above offer because I've come across another setup, this time an Offy intake complete with 6 x rebuilt 97's and air cleaners for $600!

This one I am jumping on... it's sold! I know even without asking that I couldn't even dream of finding a better deal than that.

Thanks for the advice though, much appreciated!

Rich

Even at 1400, it's not a bad deal if the carbs are good ones. 97s are very hard to find in good condition and they bring big bucks.
