my unlcle has a question and i dont know much about diesels so here goes, whats easier putting turbo on 7.3 or changing engines, or just buying another truck.. what would be the best bet? he just wants more power out of his truck. and he is one of the kind that if some one says its better then he will do it..

There are conversion kits available to put a turbo on the earlier 7.3 and the later models came with a turbo.


Actually the powerstroke is a 7.3 also, totally different engine though.
It would not be an easy job swapping a computer controlled powerstroke in place of the earlier IDI 7.3.

Unless your uncle really likes tinkering with diesels I would suggest a new truck.
