7.625 GM Diff question????

Question: How are axle tubes secured to the center diff housing of a GM 7.625 10 Bolt? Are they just pressed in? I have one side that is a bit banana'd and was wondering if trying to replace the tube is worth the effort. I have a diff alignment bar, a lathe to create the bearing slugs for the 7.625 and a 50 ton press, so I would think I'm properly equipped. I have narrowed a few diffs before but never tried to replace a housing tube. Advice wanted, and greatly appreciated

They are pressed in with a spot weld. At least the ones I have dealt with are.

Save yourself a few $$ and headaches and find one that fits in the used parts yard. Prices run $150 to $350 depending on gear ratio, posi or not and local. If your tube is bent, the axle shaft is probably junk too.
