It is a post I made awhile back about disc brakes in a Chevelle. It ended that you needed diffrent upper A-Arms and you could use B-Body brakes. Reason for this was they are bigger. In other words you can put 12 inch disc breaks on your car for the same money it would cost to put 10 inch. It is just a better deal. Chris |

That swap also involves some ball joint work and increases your turning radius. Some people have been disappointed with it, after all that work. If you are just using it for basic street use, I'd pass.
The 1970 Malibu steering arm and spindle are 2 seperate pieces, so you can use a disc spindle for a 67-72 A or G body, 68-74 Xbody, or 67-69 Fbody. Just use your original steering arm. You also cant use the 67-68 backing plate or bracket with 69+ calipers. Past those years the steering and spindle are one casting, and it requires more modification. You can even modify your drum spindles to be identical to stock disc spindles. Last edited by yesgo; 06-28-2005 at 05:47 PM. |
