700 R4 Automatic Transmission, Modify to work without electical hookups.
I have built a 1975 280 Z with a Chevy 350 (30 over) with Edelbrock intake and a mild cam. The installation was done a few years ago, but I recently removed the engine and transmission to refresh everything. I noticed that when driving the car, I would never feel it shift into overdrive. I did some research and found out that the internal electical connections are important in order to get the last gear and to lock up the torque converter. I am looking for some information to modify the trans so that it will work without the electical hook ups that I cannot supply from the car that I am using this trans for. Any suggestions?

If it's really a 700R4 it does not need any electric to shift into 4th,OD. The electric is to lock the converter clutch. And you can supply the power to lock the clutch if you have tail lights. Go here to see how it's done.
