700-r4 question

is there a simple one-man way to seperate a 700-r4 from a 4.3? heres where im at:all bolts are removed (6 right?)the engine is on a hoist and i have about a 3/4 to an 1" of seperation all the way around.where do or should i go from here? thanks in advance.

You're not trying to pull the trans with the torque converter still attached to the flex plate, are you?

can i access the torque converter to flex plate bolts from the panel on the bottom? it appears so,just want to be sure.i am gonna have to turn the tranny upside down arent i ?

The torque converter attaches to the flexplate with three bolts. With the dust cover /pan off the trans, you can reach them from the bottom. Rotate the crank until you get them all. You'll need to shove the converter back onto the trans so it doesn't fall off when you pull the trans off. When you reinstall, make sure the notches in the converter snout engage the tangs on trans pumps or the trans will not pull completely up to the block.
