700 R4 without electric
 

Is there a 700R4 that dosnt have a electrical connection?
Far as I can tell the one In my car dosnot have any electrical connection whatsoever......
I know where it is supposed to be but cant find it there...

anything is possible, the only problem is, you didnt give a year make and model so we can help you on what trans you might have in you vehicle, along with engine size as that also could play a role on what trans may have been installed from the factory.
or if possible, post a pic of the pan and we can identify it that way.

Well I didnt include any of that as in this case it will not help....
Engine/trans is in a 82 Jaguar xjs
Was said to come from a 84 z-28
Engine numbers come back to a 84 firebird
Engine harness color codes dont match jaguar, camaro, or firebird
has a transpan matching a 700r4

so..... was a 700r4 made without a electrical connection?

All 700r4 - 4L60 trans came with electrical hook up. On the shift linkage side, above the linkage and towards the rear of the trans case about 5-6 inches

Some one may have modified the trans for non electrical lock up controlled converter or to a non lock up configuration

no, not to my knowledge, but for some who have taken the lockup out, it is possible that maybe they just plugged the hole with something else.
the connector should be in a vertical position on the drivers side of the case, behind the shift linkage, roughly half way up the case.
