Post 7004R transmission conversion

need help in how to get a 7004R trans to downshift without computer. Will not change gears and stays in high gear.

sounds like you have a convertor clutch not releasing, most of the kits sold are to lock up the convertor, the shifts are regulated by the tv cable and road speed.

Transmission is out of a '93 model chevy pu. with a computer...with 10 prong wireing on the side. I need to know how tomake in a'86 pu. with 454 with no computer.

I am not a pro, but I had thought that in 92 and 93, maybe newer that they started putting in the 4L60-E tranny which is hooked into the ECM, I just noticed it on the truck I bought, if I figure anything out I will be sure to tell you too.

Your going to need a computer to get it to work. Either go to Willys' site or dig around for a diesel computer aand loom and retrofit it. The new one is waaaaaaaay easier and will actually work when your done.
