Ensure throttle cable pulls throttle blades wide open first.
After assuring this, at WOT the TV cable must be pulled taught; ie NO more TV cable travel at WOT.
Ratios and distance from throttle blades do affect TV cable initial setting.
You may want to use a pressure gauge.
70-90 PSI at idle; 180-240 PSI at WOT setting. Pressure is dependent upon regulator spring and booster valves...

The TV cable is adjustment is most important on this trans. If done improperly severe damage to the trans can result. It is also important that the correct ratio at the throttle is set. Holley as well as Edelbrock make a bolt on bracket that does this. I think other firms like Bowtie Overdrives, TCI, and Lokar also have the kits. What carb are you running on your car?

700r adjusment

I have a 650 Edelbrock cab, with a lokar cable. I have an end play of .070 set between the cable pull and carb.

The Edelbrock carb needs a linkage "fix" for it to properly pull the TV on the 700. Its item #29 on this page. Don't leave home without it!
