700R QJet vs 350 Qjet Detent

Ok, well I recently did a head job on my 85' K10, got it all buttoned up and I'm currently playing with the tuning. Anyhow, the carb I used was one from my other truck, a C10 with a TH350, where the K10 has a 700R4. Anyhow, so my TV cable is different now compared to the one that was on the C10.

What're my options to fix this? The 700R cable goes WAY past the hookup on the carb and is a long oblong loop where the 350 one was a black snap. I couldn't probably snag a 700R QJet from a junkyard if this is too hard to remedy...

Possibly a good thing that the TV cable did not attach to the th350 linkage on the carb because the geometry would have been wrong and it could have burned up the 700. Google purplesagetradingpost and they explain geometry. When you search for the correct Corrector Bracket; it will come with linkage stuff that allows the TV cable to attach. hint : finding one that will work for a Quadrajet is much more difficult than for Edelbrock, Holley, etc.
goodluck and adjust that TV length right.

I know I can buy/modify the bracket to produce the movement angle that the 700 needs, but I'm stumped on the cable end, I've never seen one like it and I can't quite figure out how it will hookup and be adjustable once I modify the bracket.

It's got an end like this one but about an inch longer slot..

The adjustment for the right amount of "pull" at WOT is adjusted w/the cable adjuster mechanism.

If you find the cable slot is too long to provide the correct adjustment at closed throttle (usually, the cable is under some small amount of tension at idle position, IIRC), a small machine screw and nut can be attached through the slot and loctited in place to provide the stop- this will in effect shorten the slot.

Thanks! I knew it'd be something ridiculously simple like that...
