700r-th350 < Want the 700 back

In a 1991 rs camaro that originally had the 3.1/700r4 I swapped out for a sbc with a th350. My question is do the v6 r4 and v8 r4 have the same plug-ins for a VSS/Lockup.

Im burning a ton of gas and have been having to stay off the highway because of high rpm. Can I just swap it out with any v8 r4 or will I be better off looking for one that came in that year of camaro?

Sorry this is kinda vague but just not sure of the right questions to ask. Thanks in advance!

Well that depends on what the torque arm is attached to now with the th350? You will want one from a f-body if you are using the stock torque arm.

I have a modded t350 crossmember that has the mounts for the torque arm. Also still have the stock 700 crossmember also. But I forget, is the torque arm bolted directly to the tranny?

Yes it bolts to the tail shaft. A 200-4r could be a good alternative. They use the same length drive shaft as the th350, you would just have to modify the tranny mount location.

Yea I might concider that. I mainly just want to know if I do find a 90-92 camaro r4 that the 90* style has the same connectors that the 60* one did. Would like to know my speed sometimes.
