My 700R4 shifts into 4th gear overdrive to soon, about 30 MPH. Same thing about down shifting out of overdrive. I would like to change the shift point into and out of overdrive to about 45 MPH. Can this adjustment be made by adjusting the Throttle Vacuum cable? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yes it is likely the TV cable but this isn't to be adjusted by eye like you can on a TH350. Very critical adjustment on an overdrive tranny so I suggest you have it done at your local tranny shop or contact these guys if you want to try it yourself.

There is one adjustment for the TV cable, it's not to be used to change shift points. So make sure it's adjusted right.
You can raise the 3-4 shift point and lower the 4-3 downshift point usually by swapping one governor spring for a weaker one. A 10 minute job on most vehicles.
