Hi i have a 1992 silverado. With a 700r4 trans and i just had it rebuilt, it has less than 500 miles on it. And it has some problems. First it is making a howling noise in 1st and 2nd gear. Second it is slipping a little bit from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me.

Howl noise usually is bearing related. Torrington bearing between parts or pinion gear bearings in planet.

Slip or lag when shifting to 3rd can be a simple thing as TV cable out of adjustment. ALso an indicator of improper setup on the 3-4 clutch pack or small servo for 2nd gear
Dont worry how old you are... it is the mileage on your body that adds up.
