700r4

well its a must i have to rebuild my trans took the trans pan off looks like some water got in their and their was some good size metal in their to sucks. Im going to use a monster rebuild kit with vet parts in the kit and everything i need.

1. what can i use to cleam the parts i have to keep carb cleaner ?
2. is their some king of rags to use that wont put crap in my trans
3. is their upgrade spots to put the check balls 91 trans
4. while im in the trans what upgrades can i do with no cash

1. Mineral Spirits, Carb Cleaner, both have a little Oil to prevent rust.
2. Compressed Air = no Lint.
3. CK Performance Shift Recal Kit.
4. Good ??

1,2, no problem 3 i was looking for a no cost like the older 700r4 their are some balls you can put in a new spot and some you dont even have to put in and 4 good ?? what is that

what about rubber gloves i hate them but if it will be better for being clean non latex no powder

ok got the gloves now what to do about the seals i would like to use the press on seals but i dont think they rent one at advance i dont have any other parts place i hope the kit comes with the split type

another thing to add is i would like to paint my trans i was told i have to use etching primer on alum but they dont make a high temp etching primer do i use etching thin high temp primer thin paint also what is the temp of a trans

You can use some Mylar sheet or plastic from a bottle & hose clamps to resize the solid Teflon seals if it doesn't come with the Scarf/split seals.

Shouldn't really need Hi-Temp paint, Trans normally runs about the same temp as the Engine coolant or slightly higher at times.

got my trans kit today its alittle more thin i was thinking their are alot of gaskets ALOT OF GASKETS i will try to post a pic of the parts
