700r4 behind a big block ?

What are the limits for TH-700R4 trans power vise ?
It's newly rebuilt with shift kit and it's got more clutches in 3/4 gear clutch set (9 if i remember correctly)

I am thinking about putting BBC 396 into my Jeep CJ7, 4000 lbs.
Honestly I would say that in the set-up I would have that engine in it should make somewhere around 400/425 hp and 450/475 Ft-lbs of torque !
The Jeep has a mildly built 350 SBC now and the transmission seems to handle that fine. Im running a stock converter from V6 4.3 S10 Blazer. The Jeep is on 38" tires and is it's mostly going to be a toy to use in the winter, driving in snow !

Hey Icejeep,

Based on some research I did some time ago (dropping a big block and a supporting transmission into a Camaro for low-buck racing fun), I understand that a properly built TH-400 is the ideal transmission to have behind a big block.

Hopefully the more knowledgeable members will soon chime in with good info.
