700r4 cable geometry out of whack

I have a Holley 4150 with geometry corrector and Holley bracket to hold the cable. My pressure readings are 55psi with cable disconnected and 125psi with the cable connected. This setup causes the plunger to be fully depressed at WOT. The 1-2 shift is harsh at this setting. If I set the cable so I get 55psi connected the plunger will not be completely depressed at WOT. Should I set the cable to 90PSI connected? It is still not fully depressed in at WOT. It seems the geometry is out of whack to me but I would like other comments please.

Thanks
Don

700r4 out of whack

I can't be the only one that has this problem since I am using common parts. I have a Holley vac carb holley geometry corrector and cabel holder. I was thinking about the TCI valve body but I am afraid the constant pressure setup will give harsh shifts.

Sounds like geometry is wrong. Too much PSI at idle as you indicated 125psi with cable hooked up.

Is the cable corrector on the carb correctly? I wonder if the corrector was the wrong one or drilled incorrectly?

Have you checked for WOT at the carb when the pedal is pushed down inside the vehicle?

Carb spacer used and the TV cable is at a bad angle to the carb?

out of whack

The cable does slope upwards to the carb. I thought that with the Holley pieces that everything would fall in to place. If I back off the idle pressure, at WOT the cable is not tight. I was wondering if the Bowtie ez-cable would work for me. I think I will call them tomorrow. They call it the long spring syndrome.
