700R4 conversion to 4L60E
Hi, I'm new at this and 'll appreciate any expertise help. I'm working on attempting to purchase just those components required to install on a 700R4 to convert it into a 4L60E?
Since they are both identical and mechanically the same (700R4 and 4L60E)with the exception of electronics I guess, which specific components are required from the 4L60E to make the 700R4 a 4L60E? Is there a conversion kit available? Can any one out there within the hotrodder community be of any assistance? |

700R4 to 4L60E
Thanks AT Boneville. I appreciate you sharing your expertise. That answer cleared my doubt.
Is there any other optional upgrade features for the 700R4 that can improve the shifting sore of like a boom boom boom boom from 1st to 2nd 3rd and 4th? Any valves, pistons or whatever? Thanks again. |

i think you should try to find a better tranny. that 700R4 isnt going to hold up too long with that motor. if it has anything above 450 HP/TQ your going to blow it up.

Better Tranny?
Which Tranny would you consider a better combination?
I've been considering the 4L60E w/ the Compushift which is a stand alone computer system and Replace the Holley double Pumper with an EZ-Fast EFI kit or the Powerjection III Kit from Sumitt. These units have Carb. appearance and mounts the same as a carburator. The kit includes computer, O2 sensor, Temp. sending unit, electric fuel pump, filter and other stuff along with it. Will this combination improve performance, driveability and gas milleage? Thanks for responding and advice. |

The problem in using a factory computer is that it's looking for inputs from sensors that don't exist on 700R4 models, not that it can't be done but you're trading up front dollars for your patience, expertise, and effort. Bogie |

Stand alone computer for Electronic Tranny
Thanks for the Info.
I certain and most definetly agree with you on that it gets expensive very fast and patience goes along with it. I guess that for now I'll stick to the 700 and the Holley. |
