700R4 Governor Springs

I have searched all over and cant find my answer. Maybe I'm missing something and its so simple people don't ask it....how in the world do you get the governor apart to install new springs? I see the pins on the fly weights, one end is flattened and the other has a slight mushroom on it. Do you remove those pins and if so how do you get them to stay once you re install them?

I have another separate question. I am installing the corvette servo supplied by Dana and pro-built. My end play is about .080 which I think is a little too much right? I installed the two gold spacers that he supplied and still came up with this. Thank you!

You cut the ends off the pins with wire cutters then use 2 or 2 1/2 in. nails as replacements. Are you measuring the end play from the cover or where the pin pushes the band? I believe the cover should only move 1/8 in. And you need to wiggle room at the pin/band. Having it to tight is a bad thing.

OHHHH hahaha thanks for the nail trick! I have the servo installed without any seals and the cover and snap ring in. I put my gauge (cant think of the name) on the cover and pushed down till I felt a firm stop. Came up with 0.080

If you are only replacing the small springs, you feed / wiggle them in place , line them up with a scribe or similar tool

.080" should be fine for Band clearance.
Super Servo recommends 1/16" to 1/8".
