700r4 here we go
ok guys i started to take out slipping 700r4 and put in th350 . talked about this on my last post. I decided not to after replies. the man said that the trans was jest rebuilt but leeked fluid when i bought the car. he said it still slipped. when I took it out the shaft where the drive shaft goes you can move it all around. and the littlt cap about 3 inches around has a small hole in it and i beleive that is where you adjust the bands? the pan has no metal fragments on the magnet does it loose pressure from that hole and make it slip. please help

my trans is an 86 model everybody says they got better in 87 what did they change? thanks guys

Not sure what part you are saying has a hole in it. The band servo is round the governor cover is round... what area of the tranny is this cap?
There is no threaded band adjustment on a 700/4L60 tranny. The output shaft will move side to side . If the tranny has slipped much, there is damage to the frictions inside A whole list of items were changed in the mid 1987 & later 700/4L60 tranny. Input sprag design, input drum, & the valve body where changed some what Quote:
