Sounds like a problem with the TV/ThrottleValve, binding/sticking. Usually worse after the Trans gets warm/hot. Can cause high/firm or low/soft shift points.

Sometimes giving the TV cable several quick jerks & releases with Engine idling can free it up or clear trash/debri causing the binding.
