700R4 install with Bowtie Overdrive TV made EZ system

I've had a 700R4 in my 69 C-10 for about 5 years. It was ok but I was never happy with the downshift timing. I would always find myself in 4th/lockup while creeping through town. I had to put a new 1406 on so I decided to go with the Bowtie Overdrive TV made EZ system in hopes that it would help with the drivability. It the directions they say that if the part throttle detent valve does not fully extend on its own that I then need to install a TV correction kit. I called BO about this issue since my valve would not fully extend. They told me not to worry, I should be fine without the correction kit.

Now I have the truck up on jack stands. The pan is still off since I really don't know if I need the TV correction kit or not. I have the 0-300 psi test gage installed. In my instructions it says to put the TV slider in the rearward position, check for WOT, check for pressure by pulling the cable than test drive. Than on another page it says not to test drive the vehicle until they get the results of the idle pressures.

When I first installed this tranny I test drove it until it shifted ok and that was it. A local tranny shop that I trust walked me through the proceedure. I know I'm making this harder than what it really is. The info I'm getting from BO is making it worse.

Any better ideas? I want to set the TV correctly and fix my shifting into overdrive in town problem.

I also have the B&M lock-up control that I'll install after the the test driveing is done. Thanks

I do not fully understand what your problem is.

You need full pull of the TV cable at WOT.

Most folks like the operation of the BO TV made ez setup.

The problem is getting conflicting info from BTO. At this time I'm confident that the part throttle detent valve is ok even thought it does not fully extend on its own.

Full pull at WOT sounds good to me too. I'll check and record the pressures for BTO. I never did a check like this, what are the target pressures?
