Welcome to Hotrodders.

I edited the thread title. We dont use : "Help, Need Help" as thread titles here.

Placing proper information in thread titles helps the members and the search feature of the board.

Adding to what Crosley said, if a poster is too lazy to put a decent description in the title, the poster will find that many, if not most, of the people that can help will ignore the thread.

For example, my forte is transmissions. If you have a transmission problem and the title does not indicate that, I will not read the thread. My time is too valuable to waste reading threads unrelated to transmissions and I don't have the time to read every "Help" thread to find threads about transmissions.

So, if you want the best and most answers to a question, make your title come out and grab us. Saying just "Help" tells us you are too lazy to help us help you, so we will return the favor and be too lazy to help you.

Have you tried Google? Also, if the rebuild guide you've got isn't more detailed than "Inspect governor", I'd try another guide.

Never had a 700 apart, but it seems to me it should be pretty easy to find an exploded diagram on-line.

Edit: Found a governor for sale on ebay ($13.00), with a photograph.

It is or was under the round dome shaped cover. Has weights that extend outwards when spining. Most likely they are wanting you to look at the green plastic gear on the end, check for broken teeth on the gear, also check the plumger/piston inside of it for full movement when you extend the weights by hand
