700R4 Lockup question

I'm confused..... after looking at the the following pages: http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sum...o/700R4p1.html

According to the second diagram, if I energize term A and ground term B, I should have lockup on gears 2,3 and 4. Is this correct? I am running a 2500 converter, and most of my driving is at 1500-2000 rpms. Should I wire up the trans , so it locks up 2,3,4 ? So the trans temp stays within normal range.
Thanks,
Bob

what is the weight of the vehicle? Weight plays a large part of converter heat buildup.

As the weight of a vehicle goes down ... the converter stall speed must go up to avoid the engine pushing against the brakes while at a full stop

You do not want to shift the tranny while the converter is locked up. That is very hard on the lockup hub inside the converter.

I provided a large part of the tech 700 information to the Purple sage owner, although I did not provide the drawings... , He is a good friend of mine

Crosley,
The vehicle weighs about 2500lbs, 2400-2600 coverter and 3:89 gear ratio.
Judging from your reply, I should wire up for 4th gear lockup only.
Thanks,
Bob
