I've had/have several GM diesels. One truck had 5 trans. in 6 years. The diesel has a different governor, also you should check the servos, the 2nd and 4th work on the same band. Maybe the seal is leaking on the 2nd servo. You can put a larger servo in place of the 2nd and 4th.
