700r4 no reverse
i got a 90 gmc that all forward gears work but no reverse. I unhooked the drive shaft and put it in reverse and the drive shaft turns but when hooked back up still no reverse. not sure why can someone help

Sounds like the reverse input clutch pack is bad. Are you sure you have 1 - 2 - 3 and over drive (4th).. IF the drive shell splines break , you will lose 2nd gear , reverse and over drive (4th).
