700r4 output shafts

i have a 2wd 84 chev c10. i had a 700r4 in it but cracked the bellhousing so i bought a new 700r4 out of a 4x4 pickup. i need to change the output shaft because the output shaft that is in it now is meant to go in the transfer case. i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to pull the 4x4 output shaft out and put my old output shaft in. thanks

You're going to have to completly dissasemble both trans. The output shaft is one of the first parts that goes in when building a trans & the last part that comes out when dissasembling.

the 700 trans needs to be dis assembled about 1/2 way into the case. the out put shaft installs from the rear of the case after a snap ring is removed.

IF you are not familiar with this trany , i would suggest finding some knowledgeable to avoid a costly mistake
