You need to pressure test it,that will tell you what's going on.Theirs a port just above the gear shifting linkage,it has a pipe threaded plug, its 1/8 npt.Go to the hardware store get a male 1/8 threaded nipple w/barbs on it,then about 3 ft. of hose that can handle 300 psi. then a pressure gauge that will read to 300 psi. Then another nipple female w/barbs that will thread on to the gauge.Get the engine up to temp.then read your pressures in P R N D 3 2 1,write those pressures down. Then post them on here an someone can give you a better answer.Without those its anybody's guess to what the problem is. A good 700r4 will have around 180 psi. at idle in all gears. Also be sure to clamp to hoses down to the nipples. For hose I used some a/c hose like the kind you find to recharge an a/c with an also used an a/c gauge.
