hey everyone I've been having problems with 700r4 in 91 silverado. when ever i drive normally from take off half the time it would shift fine other times just before it would go into 3rd it would jump to like neutral and i would have to take my foot off the gas for it to pop in gear and then i could keep driving. the engine has a few mods and 373 gears. i have a little problem from take off it tends to spin alot at wot and i had one time that i took off and it was burning the tire and the speedo said about 80 and then it jumped to neutral very annoying. here recently i started back driving it, and i have changed some of the engine parts, i got rid of the tbi and put an edelbrock 750 and edelbrock torker intake with spacer on it, i switched the .440 .454 cam out with a .488 cam and i have the accel coil hei dist. It also has edelbrock shorty headers, electric water pump and fans, double roller timing chain and its been bored .060 over the bad thing is that it still has stock tbi heads. the trans is stock and not sure if its wore out or acting up due to engine because now if i smash it all the way it wont hardly downshift and it feels like it not going anywhere the rpms are reaching like 5500 to 6000. one time i let it go all the way to 4th before i stomped on it and it took off but within in secs it came out of gear and another time i got on it went to about 6000 rpms and when it shifted it dropped down to about 4000 and i stayed in it and then it came out of gear again. the trans is getting on my nerves. any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a rebuild is needed.

Drop the pan for inspection for debris , I also suggest you open the filter up for visual look there too

yeah i was thinking about rebuilding it soon. would there be any part or parts in particular that would go bad to cause these problems.

i also have a jet stage two chip installed and being that i changed to carb would it still have any effects on the trans like shift points.
