700r4 - rebuilt - What mods do I need?

We picked up a junkyard core that turned out to be a recently rebuild 89 700r4 (clean and has a new converter) out of a T-boned minivan. We are placing it behind a modified 327, in a lowered shortbox. We will go with a 2500 stall and have a 4.10 S-style posi rearend with street tires and likely traction bars. I doubt that it will be sticky.

My questions pertain to the transmission. We were going to put a Transgo 2-3 programming kit in it before installing in the vehicle. What else should we consider to help save a semi-decent transmission without complete disassembly Servos, Governor, boost valve ?? How can we determine what parts we already have... anybody have dimensions for these items that we can check?

Initially we were going to rebuild it but since it is a runner we want to try it out first.

Kits...Transgo vs B&M vs Superior vx Sonnax vs others.....recommendations?

"We" = son and I

Thanks all.

700r4 mods - Which are needed?

The truck has a diesel rad and aux trans cooler (from our donor truck) so I think our cooling is likely good, but we have yet to run it so ??
