700r4 servo question
My 700r4 seems to be slipping a bit on full throttle application when in Drive... 1, 2nd, 3rd, seems to hold fine when manually shifting...would a larger servo help out?.. been driving it nice since i started to notice it happening... tv cable tightened up a bit but now I have firm shifts and pull out of that adjustment at wot....I'm guessing I'll probably need a tranny soon but was hoping a servo would "patch" problem for now..any thoughts...

The servo only applies the band for 2nd, & 4th.. If it is slipping in any gear other than 2nd, or 4th, then no servo on the planet is going to help.
If the trans has had a hard life-it is probably time for an over-haul. Once they start slipping, they don't last much longer after that. Here's another idea that I think you already hit on-don't drive it under full throttle at least until you have the dough to shell out for a new transmission. |
