Hi folks,

last year my '68 Camaro got a 700r4 replacement for the original Powerglide.
The guy who put it used the orginal PG shifter bracket. To make it work he bent it and twisted it, but it looks like a dog's breakfast and it is straining the cable and sometimes it won't click into Park...because the bracket mounts a little too far back with the PowerGlide bracket (even though he has bent it).

Where can I get the correct shifter cable bracket that will work with the 700r4?

Will brackets from from a TH350 or TH400 work?

This one looks like it may as cable ng point is farther forward.

I did look at this and almost purchased it but then I realized that the spot where the cable fits through is a hole. Unfortunately it has to be a slide through as my cable has the rubber boot cover which would not go through that hole.

Some folks on another Bulletin board suggested trying Shiftworks. And indeed they have a kit to facilitiate a proper conversion specific to my car:

It's a little more pricy than just the bracket, but it does include other components in the kit that will finish the job off nicely. For example, the plastic bezel and detent for the console.

I think I will go this route.
