700R4 shift points

I have checked the archives and found similar problems, but not quite the same. 1-2 shift occurs @4100, 2-3 shift occurs @5200. How can I have the shift points be comparable? The trans is a rebuilt 700 with a tranny builders shift kit. I am running a 2600 Stall and a 3:89 rear.
Thanks,
Bob

on the governor there are two different springs..... light tension / heavy tension.

the weight on the heavy spring side....... gring a 1/4 inch wide and deep notch in it. See if this helps.

A slightly softer spring in place of the stiffer spring will cause later light throttle shifts , sometimes will delay WOT shift point slightly too.

Does this tranny upshift to 2nd gear while the shifter is in "1st gear" ??

Crosley,
I don't know if it will shift to 2nd if held in 1st. I will try to do a test drive, and check it out. The trans is an 85. The car weighs 2500lbs or so.
When you said 'gring a 1/4 inch wide and deep notch in it. See if this helps.'
Did you mean grind?

yes grind. speeling is not my strong point, that and the fact that i cannot type

If it is an 85 unit , it will upshift from 1st to 2nd with the shifter in "1"
