700r4 shift rod connection

The column shifter in my Suburban has been feeling pretty sloppy. It shifts fine, though the needle doesn't line up very well. I got looking around at all of the connections between the column shifter and the equalizer lever on the transmission. From what I could tell from looking at the pic in the Hayne's manual, I am missing a spring washer at the connection between the shifter rod coming from the steering column and the equalizer arm. That connection is pretty sloppy. Could this be the cause of the loose feeling column shifter? And where could I find a replacement sping washer?
