Post 700r4 shifting gears to soon

i have a 700r4 it shifted and ran perfect before i changed the fluid and filter now it seems to be shifting through the gears to fast and lugs. the fluid was black burnt but it shifted great. i adjusted the tv cable to every position some made it better some worse. it was only since i changed the fluid.it seems fine when in high gear 55mph but lugs a little in lower gears . will it make a 4 hour highway trip at 60 mph if it drives and runs fine in overdrive, and just shifts a little soon in lower gears? i have to p/u my kids!

Let's see what we have here: Winter time in NY and you want to know if it's safe to make a 60 mile (one way?) trip to pick up the kids with a vehicle with a 700R4 that had black/ burned fluid that started acting up when you replaced said fluid with new!! Being a wise and sometimes cautious old fart, I would rent a car for the trip or hope the tranny rebuilder would provide me a loaner while the Junked 700R4 is being rebuilt!! All rebuilders I know say that the tranny is wasted if the fluid has been burned and my experiences have proven them correct.
