Strange "street rod", but I like it: 1986 Suburban 1/2-ton 4WD, pulled old tired 350, dropped in GM Perf Parts 454 HO (425HO, 475ft-lb), added Holley MP fuel injection, Hooker super comp headers, dual 2.5" exhaust.
Using a TPI Performance 700R4, but can't get it to go above 4000RPM before shifting unless doing it manually. Tried governor calibration, not much impact. Hard and hi (2000RPM) 1-2 shift, can't seem to lower it without getting too mushy and worrying about T.V. pressure being too low. Can't "shorten" cable anymore w/o restricting throttle angle to less than full movement. HELP/IDEAS?
