Hello all, hopefully this is a simple fix, i finished swapping in a 700r4 loch-up type from a 84 to an 81 camaro all went well, some snags, but well. ok it goes through all gears but when i "stomp into it" 1st to 2nd shift seems to get softer , i have had the TV cable set by a trans place here in Glen Burnie, MD changed accumilator springs, from purple to grey per CSI trans service new torque con. new front pump ,steel sprags and all, not sure if the servo was changed, Pleas any info would be appreciated :smash:
Most likely the reverse/low boost valve is too small and the line bias valve should be blocked into place to provide better boost pressure when you get past 1/2 throttle.
Thank's crosley from what I have been reading i should listen to what you have to say about transmissions, i have just replaced the band apply servo with a corvette servo along with the boost valve seems to be doing good except for my new oil leak at the rear of the intake, but thats another catagory, thanks again for the help. Next up hopefully is a set of gears and a good posi unit.
MDF, I would not be too concerned about the "Soft Shift" when you stomp it unless there is slippage going on. The nature of the beast is babying the tranny results in a snappy shift to 2nd that can be down right irritating, whereas a good aggressive throttel movement smoothes it out.
