700R4 spedo problems

ive replced the 700 in my 87 silverado and started hooking all the junk back up to it and realized that on my old tranny that it had the cable spedo hook up and the new one has the elctrick is there any thing i can do that dont lead to buying a new spedo?

Duece is correct, but i'll add one thing. The reluctor ring on the output shaft is pressed on and can be a real bugger to remove and install. I got mine off by heating it with a small torch then putting an open end wrench behind it and whacking on the wrench with a hammer. Probably NOT a good way to do it if the trans is all together, might damage a torrington bearing inside. Call a few trans shops and ask if they have the reluctor puller and how much to change it if you drive it in.
Another way would be to heat it and use a long jaw bearing puller, that way you won't be hammering on the shaft.
