I Have A 4-speed Manual And Purchased A Rebuilt 700r4 To Replace It.
So I Can Get Overdrive. The Rearend Is 411 . Can Anyone Tell Me Is This Just A Bolt In Project Or Does Anything Need To Be Modified ?
My C-10 Truck Has 350 In It And The 700r4 Is Coming Off A 350 .thanks.

This swap does take a little doing.First the shifter,You'll need a floor shifter for an automatic. if it has a column shifter,you can hook it to that [i've done it] but it's a bad idea. I ran my 62 Chevy into a Mercedes one time because there's nothing to keep it in park. You'll need a auto. flywheel ,Also you will have to move the cross member and if it's never been moved,that means grinding off rivits.The Drive shaft yoke will have to be changed and i'm pretty sure you'll have to have it cut down a little, on that measure center of u-joint to center of u-joint and leave an inch or so of slide.Then you'll have to get a bracket to hook up your TV cable to the carb or throttle body.The Torque convertor needs to lockup in 4th so you'll need to hook up a switch ,prefferably a vac. switch.There's also the speedo cable to deal with. The right cable and gears with have to be figured out. I think that about covers it.maybe someone else can add anything i forgot. Good Luck
