700r4 to th350
I have a 1986 GMC K1500 4x4 pickup. it has a 305 and a 700r4 tranny. I might put a 383 with 380 hp in it. The 700r4 in it is very tired and I have a th350 in my garage. The th350 is built to withstand 1000 hp. I am going to put it in but before I start I need to make sure the tranny can fit in my truck. Anyone that can help me please do, I have some expierence but I do not know the specs on this subject.

it is a 4wd pick-up though does that matter?

The main cases are different lengths , the drive shafts and cross members would need attention. The length of the 4x4 output shafts that extend past the rear edge of the tranny case are different from a t-700 & t-350.... which requires a different design on the t/case adapter
