700R4 Tranny Shift Problem

I have this tranny in my 4x4. I had it rebuilt this summer and all was well but now that it is cold it is not operating correctly. when the tranny is cold I have to rev it up to get moving, it is worse in reverse. I know that this could happen with low oil but the oil is good and is not burnt. The cable is alos adjusted properly. I am hoping I can just change the filter but it only has 5000 k on the rebuilt. What do you people think??

I guess I will reply to my own post as more of an update than anything else.

I changed the oil and filter today. There was quite a bit of gunk on the magnet for a tranny that has been run for 1000 k. It seems better now but I accidently overfilled it by approx 0.5 a quart. I know that this can do damage but is half a quart all that much of a problem??

a half a quart is not usually a problem.

It's possible that the recent "rebuild" was maybe just a "fix" and not all seals were changed. When old seals get cold, they just don't work too good.
