700r4 trans. in a '86 MC SS

Changed from orignal 2004r n 305h.o drivetrain to a 350 crate and a 700r4 from an '88 caprice rebuilt w/redline parts speedo is off by 15mph. is it because of reargear difference it was right before swap? heard of a speedogear in the tranny

The difference you are seeing is because the speedometer gear ratio (inside the tranny) of the original (correct) tranny is not the same ratio as what is in the replacement tranny.
