Post 700R4 transmission

Is there a good book on the hows & don't and what
to do on rebuilding and hopping up a 700R4 tranmission <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

if you are a novice don't go there the trans is very touchy, has had many little changes over its production run and five revisions, if you want real trouble open up a 700r with little or no experiance with them. some of them will even make a pro cry. good only if every thing is right on, and even the factory built few of those.

When prepared right this is simply the best tranny for me. However i have burned up a couple. It is important to use a later than 86 with all the mods done to it. There is no way i would tackle rebuilding one of these. You need a ton of special tools. It is cool doing a smokie burn out!!! And then being able to drive 65mph at 1600 rpms though. Do not tow with this tranny in overdrive. Good luck, and keep us informed.
