700R4? transmission ID
Hi,
I purchased what was supposed to be a 700R4 out of a 2WD Chevy Suburban. I don't know what year the vehicle was, but I do know the engine was a 454. There is no T.V. Cable, but there is a vacuum modulator on the fwd right-hand side of the case, and about 10 inches behind the shifter cable attachment point there is a wire connection, for 1 wire with the small round rubber boot. On the (L) side of the bellhousing there is a raised 46, and on the (R) hand side of the bellhousing there is a raised HD. There is a shiny tag on the (R) side of the case w/ J69 near the top, and below that is 87 1YA 8415. With the information I've provided can you give me any idea what I purchased? Thanks for your time! |

You describe a T-400 transmission. There is no vacuum modulator on a 700r4 or a 4L60E trans. There would be a TV cable on the 700r4 / 4L60 trans.
