700r4 transmission yoke lenghts

I searched for different yoke lenghts for the 700r4 and did not come up with anything. I have one that is about 5 1/2" from the end to the center of the uj. I think I saw one at the junk yard that was about 7". What I need to know is how many lenghts were there that would fit a '90 700r4. I don't know what mine came out of, but a yoke from a 4cyl auto s10 fits.
Also would using a longer yoke be a good idea for gaining lenght in order to use a one piece shaft, or will the vibration be worse because the joint is farther from the tail shaft? help!

I can not answer the question on yoke lengths..

Many yokes from various GM trans fit the 700/4L60 trans... t-200 , t-350 , 2004r all fit the 700/4L60 trans.

I would suggest using a yoke that matches the U-joint you have on the differential if possible.

A drive line shop should be able to answer the question on how long a drive shaft is possible with out problems.
