700r4 TV CABLE installation or calibration
Anybody know how to set the TV cable for a 700r4 transmission. It's not in the original vechicle but I have bought the carb accessory to attach the tv cable and the trans shop gave me a universal tv cable. It don't click like the old one which to me is self adjusting. But this one has a screw going through a brass sleeve. And you slide it along the cable and tightened the screw at the desied spot. Can anyone give me a procedure to follow or direct me to a web page with instructions? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Just Make sure that you do not have any play in the cable and have it snug. It needs to start pulling on the valve in the trans as soon as you move the gas pedal. The tv cable is what controls how your transmission shifts.
