hi all i have just put a 1990 700r4 in my 42 cornbinder, and it won't upshift. i believe i've set the tv cable correctly and made a throttle shaft correction according to tci bulletin board. i have a strong 1st gear but it doesn't upshift . i havn't run it up over 3500 rpm cause i didn't know if i would hurt anything else. the engine torque was designed from 1200 to 4700 rpm. i have looked at the governor and everything is free in it and the gear is good. does anyone have any ideas or reasons it won't upshift.

sorry i forgot to mention the 4 wire plug on the tranny. as i read post i get the indication A B D terminals are not always the same function is that so.

IF all is good with the governor;

TV cable minimum setting may not be correct.... If the minimum cable point is not pulled enough the trans can go into fail safe mode IF the check ball is in place. Some builders remove this check ball located near the inner TV linkage

Do you have full TV cable pull at WOT?

Could be stuck shift valves
