700R4 w/Lokar shifter help

My Lokar shifter is bolted on my trans and the instructions say I need to set it up in Park ! O.K. can I turn my trans with pliers forward until it stops, then I should be in Park, Correct? Also I was told by a source make sure my driveline is hooked up first! Does this matter or what, I need some guidance here! Thanks again, Dana

If I remember correctly, my Lokar shifter lever goes to the rear when the shifter is in park position. This would pull the trans shifter lever to the rear.

I cannot understand why the driveline has to be connected, never heard that before. When I installed my Lokar shifter on my 700R4, all I had was a yoke in the rear.
