re: 700R4 – Why are the TCI manual valve body instructions so lousy?

Any chance the seperator plate is under all the crap in the box? My Transgo kit came with the sep plate under everything and even under a price of protective cardboard. Just a thought.

Well the contents for that kit http://www.tciauto.com/instructions/376010_inst.htm also list a plate.
Maybe we have an answer!?

re: 700R4 – Why are the TCI manual valve body instructions so lousy?

Well, this is definitely a step in the right direction towards finding the root cause for all this.

The next problem (that I'm currently having) is getting TCI to send me the plate and gaskets that were originally supposed to come with the kit.

I'm being told that I need the original invoice (which has long since been lost) sent back along with the contents of what originally came in the box.

For crying out loud, I've already lost $1000 in transmission shop repairs (new clutches and bands) because of the lousy TCI support, now they are telling me I need to shell out an additional $100 for a new plate and gaskets to be shipped to me.

I just can't win with TCI.

Also, Dennis (technical rep, 1-888-PRO-XTCI extension 334) was probably the RUDEST individual I've ever spoke with. I tried talking to him in a calm productive tone of voice, but he seemed convinced that I was trying to somehow scam TCI. I wouldn't think that a seperator plate and gasket set would put TCI out of business. He also mentioned that had I "originally followed the instructions like you were supposed to, you wouldn't need an extra seperator plate!"

What a tool.

Thanks again for the help guys... the saga continues.

Well, I got Jerry (manager of the sales depart) to come down to $40 for the seperator plate and gaskets.

I'm still annoyed that I ahve to pay for it, but I'm ready to swallow a little pride just to get this finished.

re: 700R4 – Why are the TCI manual valve body instructions so lousy?

Well, the new seperator plate made Z-E-R-O difference as I still continue to have no second or fourth gear.

I just got back from the transmission shop that has been working on this for me. The owner of the shop blew a temper tantrum and told me to get the car out of his shop ASAP. AFter I told him I would be happy to oblige... but I wouldn't be paying his bill, he quickly changed his tuned.

Also TCI is the most worthless company I've ever dealt with. I REALLY wish I could treat MY customers the same way TCI treats me... but then, even I'm not that vindictive.

Gonna go back to my original valve body and send this one back to TCI. I'm thinking about pooping in the box before hand though? Anybody think that's a bad idea... considering what I've gone through already?
